We Stand-With our Veterans through our SSVF Program
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is a rapid-rehousing, homeless prevention program designed to help Veterans and their families maintain their current housing, or help find them new, safe, and affordable housing. We work with households who are experiencing homelessness, or those at imminent risk of homelessness, to help them obtain and maintain housing, with the goal of long-term housing stability. This program covers Veterans residing in Dallas County and Kaufman County Texas. There is no VA disability requirement to be eligible for our program. Please see eligibility requirements below.
WHAT IS THE SSVF PROGRAM?
SSVF is a short-term intervention rapid-rehousing and homeless prevention program created by the United states Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in 2011. It is not intended to provide long-term financial assistance for housing, but to regain stability. We work with our clients to develop a housing stability plan that gives them a path forward to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Compliance with the housing stability plan and case management is a requirement of participation in SSVF.
